Our Crest Mountain show called “Fiddles -n- Vittles” is traditional mountain music featuring a variety of local artists such as the Good Ol’ Mountain Dewds and the J Creek Cloggers!
The Good Ol’ Mountain Dewds hail from Buncombe County, North Carolina and feature the blue-ribbon fiddling of Steve Trismen and the solid rhythm guitar playing of Steve Burnside. Along with solid harmony singing, the two Steve’s whip up tunes from local popular bluegrass, country and western swing melodies. As partners for over 25 years, the Dewds draw from a variety of mountain and modern influences that have made the Great Smoky Mountains the birthplace of America’s traditional country music sound.
The J Creek Cloggers are a high-energy dance team based in Haywood County, North Carolina, who are keeping the old mountain tradition alive of clogging, audience participation broom and square dances. Members demonstrate different styles of dance including buck dancing, flat-footing, and clogging, along with the music behind the dancing. Director and Founder of the team is Kim Ross of Waynesville, North Carolina.
